WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE

A MASSIVE THANK YOU FROM ALL AT THE JALLOW FOUNDATION FOR YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT DURING 2015. GRATEFUL THANKS FROM US AND ALL THOSE IN THE GAMBIA WHO HAVE BENEFITED SO VERY MUCH FROM YOUR GENEROSITY, KINDNESS AND SUPPORT. WE PRAY THAT YOUR SUPPORT WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT 2016.

2016 UPDATE

That time of the year is here again when the Women's Co-operatives are due to make their yearly loan repayments. We are pleased to say that all the Co-operatives have made their loan repayments on time. Not only that but one of the Women's Co-operatives which makes soap, have now repaid their loan in full and much earlier than they were required to. A great achievement.

MANY, MANY CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR CO-OPERATIVES.

It is down to all their hard work that the organisations the women set up have been so successful and in turn the repayments of the loans that they were granted by The Jallow Foundation means that we can now go on to help more women in other villages set up co-operatives. As a result this will enable them to make an income for themselves and their families.

The reports are now in as to how many people in the villages in Jarra West District accessed the use of their village First Aid. The figures are astounding with even more people going to their Village First Aider and either receiving immediate treatment or being referred to the local clinic as necessary. The villagers have all expressed how essential this scheme has been and is to them. With medical assistance being immediately at hand at no expense to themselves, something which they have never had before and which they are desperate to ensure continues.  We do however desperately need your help to ensure that funds are available to ensure that the project continues for many years to come, with the First Aid boxes being regularly replenished and the Village First Aiders receiving regular refresher courses.

YOU CAN HELP AND HERE IS HOW.....

We have added a page to the website purely to list all the items that are needed to help the villagers stay healthy. Please have a look at what is needed and if you can, buy perhaps one or two of these items with your weekly shop or help in whatever way you can so that we can ensure that the First Aid Kits are fully stocked.
In these remote villages having the right supplies can mean the difference between life or death, a slight cut or a serious infection.

PLEASE DO HELP IN WHATEVER WAY YOU CAN.

HELP END POVERTY IN GAMBIA

THE GAMBIA

The Gambia is one of Africa's smallest countries with a population in the region of one and a half million. It is situated on the west coast of Africa, sandwiched and surrounded by Senegal and is often referred to as 'The Smiling Coast' not only because of the beautiful beaches but also because of the smiling, helpful, friendly Gambian people.

This site will present to the world why it was so desperately necessary to
set up 'The Jallow Foundation, The Gambia'. Communicating is never easy and putting across the plight of the Gambian people will be a major challenge but we will try to include photos and images that convey our message and the task before us. A task which we hope and pray will be one which you will feel strongly and deeply enough about, to provide whatever assistance you can, however small, in any way that you can. We will also include specific information about our organization and its aims.
